HISTORY NERDS is a community for those LJers that have an insatiable appetite for all things historical. This way, you can spare your non-history nerdy friends from your ramblings and fangirlish/fanboyish outbursts about what your This Day In History email said happened in 1743 today, and share with other history nerds instead (who will most likely join in on the ramblings and fangirling/fanboying.)
RULES • Be nice. Respectful debate is fantastic, fun, and always welcome. Respectful I say. • Pictures over 200x200 pixels should be behind a LJ cut. • Posts should involve history or history nerdyness. Completely off topic posts may be deleted without notice. • You are more than welcome to nerd out to your heart's desire.
WHAT TO POST • Pictures of your favorite historical figures, historical sites, you dressed as Robert E. Lee, and so on. • Your opinions on things shown on The History Channel (or another channel) or reminders that something good is coming on. • Something new you just learned/find interesting. • Questions. Chances are that someone will have an answer. And unlike some communities, questions like "What do you think would have happened if the South had won the American Civil War?" are quite welcome. • Historical fiction/fanfiction (slash is welcome, but please warn people in case they aren't into it.) • Community promotions. But they must involve history somehow or else they will be deleted. Also, if they include gigantic banners or text, they may also be deleted to spare friends pages. • Anything else history-related that makes you squee with delight.
FIRST POST Please fill out this little survey so we can get to know you. Name: Age: Gender: Location: Favorite time period(s): Favorite historical figure(s): What makes you a history nerd?: Something random about you:
